From the 1950s until some time in the 2000s a Chicago-based street photographer and a professional nanny, Vivian Maier, shot over 150,000 pictures, primarily of people, streets and architecture in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. None of her photographs were publicly exhibited and the majority was not developed until after her death.
