In 2015, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office brought a civil forfeiture action against antiquities dealer Subhash Kapoor over an enormous collection of allegedly looted antiquities seized from Kapoor’s New York gallery and warehouses. It is part of a wide-ranging investigation into Kapoor’s activities, which involved both federal and New York State authorities as well as the Indian Government.
