20/20 Hindsight: Lessons from the Knoedler/Rosales Affair
One of the biggest art forgery scandals in recent years led to the downfall of the once-esteemed Knoedler Gallery and to a highly publicized trial in federal district court in New York and an on-going criminal investigation. The trial raised questions about art world practices and ethics, revealing inherent weaknesses in a field where much is based on trust and reputation and people may be reluctant to speak out when they suspect a fake. What can we learn from this sad episode? Join us as IFAR's distinguished speakers, some of whom were involved in the case, discuss this subject from a variety of vantage points.
